Looks like I'll be here a while
I thought I had better update you all on what has been happening since I got back from Norway.
I'd given myself until I got back from Norway to be on holiday mode, but once I was back in London it was time to start sorting myself out.
So, I landed on Sunday afternoon, Monday was a public holiday which for me meant a laundry day.
Tuesday I applied to a temp agency in London - figured it'd be the best way to find some work (and I was right), Wednesday was the interview/ chat with the temp agency, discussing what I wanted for work and my plans (they asked about my 5 year goals, and I think they saw the fear flash in my eyes, so quickly assured me that most people didn't have a solid plan. I can safely say I don't have a solid plan for this year, let alone 5 years from now..)
Thursday I had a job interview that I'd somehow managed to get the previous day, and so I dressed in my most professional hire-me-please clothes and went on about how important customer service is (5 years of R.E at school made me quite the convincing liar it would seem.)
Thursday night was spent sobbing in the cinema watching Avengers: Endgame. I'm still processing it.
After Thursday I thought I'd have a few days before I heard back from the company I interviewed for, I had another interview scheduled for the next week and a couple of other roles that I'd been told about that the agency were trying to sort interviews for.
However, by Friday I had a reply from my interviewers.
I got the job.
So then I had a weekend of panic and pro-con lists (and very helpful input from the family in the group chat) to try and decide if I should take the job.
I decided I would.
So now I'm officially (kinda) employed! I start this Tuesday, at a customer service role for an online shopping company. It's a 4 month contract which will (hopefully) give me time to figure out what I want to do in the long run - and by that I mean until the end of this year, let's not get ahead of ourselves. I'm hoping I'll be able to save a bit of money so once the contract is up I'll be able to do a bit more travelling, but we'll have to see about how well I can save...
So over the next few weeks there may not be too many updates or interesting posts, if any, as I'll be a full time worker!
I'm quite looking forward to be working again after over 2 months not working. It'll give me something to do and keep me busy, as well as make my bank account look a bit healthier...
So then, until next time!
